The Lhasa Knowledge Series offers web-based in silico prediction and database software training by the Lhasa Account Management Team. The events will be held on a Thursday at 10am BST and repeated at 4pm BST (11am EST).

The schedule for these events is as follows:

21st May - Derek Nexus for Skin Sensitisation

Senior Account Manager, Dr Andy Shannon-Little and Account Manager, Jess Tidmarsh will present on the use of Derek Nexus for the prediction of skin sensitisation.

In this session, they will be discussing predictions for skin sensitisation in Derek Nexus, including potency (EC3) predictions using a nearest-neighbour based model, and will provide an overview of the Lhasa Defined Approach that uses Derek Nexus (in combination with in chemico and in vitro methods).

28th May - Mirabilis

Senior Account Manager, Andrew Shannon-Little and Account Manager, Maggie Coombs will present on Mirabilis, an industry-standardised approach for calculating purge factors. The presentation will cover the derivation of purge factors and purge ratios for potentially genotoxic impurities in Mirabilis and the use of purge ratios to guide the selection of the proper control strategy under ICH M7. A case study will also be provided, demonstrating the Mirabilis purge factor alongside experimental evidence.

4th June - Vitic

Vitic is a structure searchable database which contains publicly available toxicity data which has been curated by the data team at Lhasa Limited. Senior Account Manager, Dave Yeo, shall be demonstrating the operation of the database for the retrieval of toxicity records which can be applied to the hazard and risk assessments of chemicals. Dave shall also demonstrate the newly written and released functionalities of data entry and database management, for members who have Vitic installed for the storage of their corporate toxicity data.

11th June - Zeneth

Account Managers Daniela Presa and Maggie Coombs will present on Zeneth, an expert rule-based system for the prediction of forced degradation pathways.

The presentation will demonstrate how Zeneth uses knowledge collated by Lhasa scientists to predict likely degradants under different degradation conditions. The webinar will also cover how Zeneth can be used to assess the degradation of drug substances in formulation and how Zeneth can be used to fulfil regulatory requirements.

18th June - Meteor Nexus

Account Managers Meekee Kok and Mersedeh Saniepay will present on Meteor Nexus, an expert knowledge-based software to predict metabolic fate of chemicals in mammals.

The session will give a demonstration of the software and an overview of the prediction methodologies that helps users to interpret the predicted biotransformations and metabolites. This session will be suitable for people who are interested in using software to assist learning or decision making in research by developing more in-depth knowledge about drug/xenobiotic metabolism.

25th June - Vitic Elemental Impurities

Account Managers Daniela Presa and Maggie Coombs will present on the Vitic Elemental Impurities database, one of the collaborative data sharing initiatives between Lhasa Limited and members of the pharmaceutical industry. The presentation will cover the inception of the data sharing consortium for elemental impurities in excipients, a demonstration of the database, and using the database in ICH Q3D risk assessments.
