Structurally complex and API-like nitrosamine data added to the Complex Nitrosamines Database

As a result of the data sharing efforts carried out within the Complex Nitrosamines Data Sharing Initiative, Lhasa Limited is pleased to announce the first release of the Vitic Complex Nitrosamines database. This release incorporates a breadth of new structures, genetic toxicity in-vitro data and Ames calls.
Partners of the consortium share Ames data on structurally-complex (e.g. API-like) nitrosamines to enable read across and reduce duplicate testing. Lhasa Limited Principal Scientist, David Ponting analysed the anonymously shared data - here is what he has to say about the release, “This is an incredibly exciting first release because, not only do we aim to reduce duplicate testing, we have also observed valuable insights into trends in both the overall frequency of positive Ames results for complex nitrosamines and the details (such as bacterial strain and S9 activation type) of those results. I look forward to analysing the structural details which lead to these changes, from both this first release and anticipated future donations."
A central aim of this ongoing collaboration is to improve structure activity relationships (SARs) for complex nitrosamines - identifying trends in compound complexity versus mutagenic potential. Thanks to our data sharing initiative members, we now have 823 total data records and 38 total substances.

The first iteration of our database contains Ames data on 38 nitrosamines, mostly structurally complex and API-like nitrosamines.
