We are absolutely thrilled to have won the Tech4Good (Product) award at the 2022 Leeds Digital Festival!
We were delighted to be shortlisted, alongside some amazing organisations, and it is a real honour to win the award.
The Leeds Digital Festival is an annual tech event in Leeds which is a celebration of digital culture in all its forms and is helping to raise the profile of tech companies doing exciting work within Leeds. Festival Director, Stuart Clarke says: “[We are] the largest and most open tech event in the UK. Whether you’re interested in coding, fintech, social media, AI, healthtech, data, start-ups, digital music, cyber security or AR/VR, we’ve got something for you. We invite the tech world’s best and brightest to come together and showcase our city region’s dynamic digital sector.”
A two-week festival period concludes each year with the Leeds Digital Festival Awards – an event hosted in partnership by Amsource and Ward Hadaway – which celebrates the innovation, creativity and excellence of tech businesses in the region. “Leeds and the wider city region are bursting with tech creativity, innovation and skill which the annual festival and awards recognise and reward” – commented Andrew Maeer, Amsource founder and CEO. “Congratulations to all of the companies who made the shortlist, you’re a credit to our region.”
The Tech4Good (Product) award is for technology that is delivering positive change for individuals, communities, or charitable work.
If you have not heard of Lhasa Limited before, we are a Leeds-based not-for-profit organisation, creating cutting-edge software technology which streamlines drug development and minimises animal testing.
We are driven by our purpose; To enable informed decision making on chemical safety.
In line with this purpose, we provide support to scientists within organisations across the life sciences sector (and beyond!), through data, knowledge and science that helps to build more confident risk assessments, whilst relying less on animal testing.
It is estimated that by 2025, 36% of world data will be healthcare data. Considering this statistic, now more than ever, it is important that we are working to ensure existing data is utilised to make better safety assessment decisions more quickly.
We deliver positive change to society by:
- Reducing the need for animal testing
- Improving the lengthy and costly process of developing new drugs
- Safeguarding human health from the adverse effects of chemicals.
