Where the world’s leading stability experts present the latest advances in stability science
We were delighted to co-hosting the annual Science of Stability conference again with FreeThink Technologies as it returned for its 9th year! The conference was held at the Science History Institute in Philadelphia – May 19 – 21, 2025.
The Science of Stability (SOS) Conference exposes attendees to the latest discoveries and innovations in the science of stability across different industries that include pharmaceuticals, generics, nutraceuticals, Over-the-Counter (OTC), and consumer products. It is a must-attend program for anyone interested in accelerated aging, degradation chemistry, and stability. There was also be many opportunities for networking including a dedicated drinks reception and conference dinner.
We enjoyed the following presentations and more:
Steve Baertschi, Baertschi Consulting | Unusual degradation chemistry and mass balance problems associated with metronidazole
John Campbell, GSK | Assessing mass balance in stress testing (forced degradation) studies
Yi Li, Gilead Sciences | Predicting dissolution slowdown using an empirical model and constrained neural network
Kausik K Nanda, Merck | Not so usual degradation pathways
Evan Hetrick, Eli Lilly | Mass balance for peptides
Rowan Meador, GSK | The chemistry of nitrosamine inhibitors and structure elucidation of inhibitor by-products formed under forced nitrosation conditions
Eduardo De La Toba, Pfizer | The stability of aqueous hydrogen peroxide solutions and implications for forced degradation studies
Jean Daou, Aptar | Mitigating nitrosamine contamination with pharmaceutical packaging using NSORBTM films
Patrick Kelleher, FreeThink Technologies, Inc. | Application of ASAPprime for predictive accelerated stability modelling of probiotics in packaging
Rachel Hemingway & Jonathan Lockett, Lhasa Limited | Using in silico knowledge to solve stability-related problems
