American College of Toxicology 43rd Annual Meeting

A team of Lhasa Limited employees flew out to Denver, Colorado for the American College of Toxicology (ACT) 43rd Annual Meeting!

Held at the Gaylord Rockies located outside Denver, Colorado, the 43rd Annual Meeting included a wide-ranging scientific program with distinguished plenary speakers, a poster session, an awards ceremony, and several professional networking events.

Monday 14th November, 09:00 AM – 12:00 PM – ICH S1B(R1): New Approaches in the Carcinogenicity Assessment of Pharmaceuticals.

Lhasa Director of Science, Anax Oliveira presented on how contextualising and reasoning different sources of data in a network of carcinogenicity AOPs can allow for conducting an efficient, consistent and transparent weight of evidence. This approach can be used to support human relevant carcinogenicity assessments, as proposed in the ICH S1B addendum.

Monday 14th November, 14:00 PM – 17:00 PM – Addressing the Global Challenge of Nitrosamine Impurities in Pharmaceutical Products.

This workshop session, which was co-chaired by Lhasa Principal Scientist, David Ponting will describe the approaches taken and progress that has been made towards these evaluations, including the approaches for toxicological assessment used.

Posters – David Ponting presented a poster titled “A statistically-robust method for nitrosamine potency assessment”.
Principal Scientist, Susanne Stalford also presented a poster, titled “Using AOPS to Aid Expert Review and Decision-Making in a Weight-of-Evidence Assessment for ICH S1B.”

Application Scientists, Charlie Modlin and Shay Scott, Senior Application Scientist, Graham Heaven and Principal Application Scientist, Fernanda Waechter were in attendance. Supporting the booth was Business Partnerships Executive, Lina Din and Principal Business Partnerships Manager, Sara Atkinson.
