Workshop: Application of non-animal approaches for decision-making in chemical safety assessment
As a pioneer in knowledge based systems, and a provider of state of the art in silico prediction and database systems for use in metabolism, toxicology and related sciences, we were delighted to attend the National Centre for the Replacement Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research event. In collaboration with Unilever, the NC3Rs jointly hosted a two-day workshop in central London on the 10th and 11th of December 2018.
Donna Macmillan, Principal Scientist, presented case studies on the use of Derek Nexus to facilitate decision-making in chemical safety assessment. In addition, Scientist Robert Foster presented a poster on, an adverse outcome pathway framework to support developmental and reproductive toxicity risk assessments.
