Lhasa Limited has been named Workplace Culture Champion 2025!

We’re proud to share that we’ve been recognised for our award-winning workplace culture. So much so, we took home the Workplace Culture Champion title at the Prolific North Awards 2025, a testament to our deep commitment to creating a thriving environment that not only supports productivity but also prioritises employee well-being.

The Prolific North Awards recognises innovative and influential work across the creative, digital, and tech sectors in the North of England. The criteria for this award are rigorous, focusing on companies that prioritise an inclusive culture, have a clear vision with lived values, and empower their workforce through strong leadership. We are proud to have demonstrated our commitment to these principles.

This award highlights our core values and our dedication to creating a place where every employee is empowered to be their best. For us, culture isn’t just a buzzword, it’s woven into the fabric of our daily work, allowing our people to do meaningful work, deliver real value to our members, and advance scientific knowledge. At its core, our culture is rooted in our mission: to support our members in making confident chemical safety decisions and minimising animal testing.

Building culture from the inside out

A strong workplace culture is about more than just perks; it’s about creating an environment where people feel valued and engaged. As Research from Gallup shows, engaged employees are more resilient and committed, leading to higher productivity and satisfaction. Through our employee-led initiatives, we’re able to participate in well-being programs that genuinely benefit us and are always evolving based on new ideas.

Our Culture Champions Initiative, launched in 2023, is a great example of this in action. This group of employees has been instrumental in shaping our workplace. Their work has led to a wide range of initiatives, including the transformation of a meeting room into a fully equipped gym space. Now a hub for lunchtime workouts and team yoga, this initiative shows how small changes can have a big impact on well-being and team spirit, helping us build a place where people can thrive professionally and personally.

What our people say

At Lhasa, we don’t just create cutting-edge scientific software; we build an inclusive, people-first environment where our teams thrive. We believe innovation is only possible when employees feel supported and valued. Our commitment to being an inclusive workplace is a core part of our culture and our everyday actions.

Rachael Herscovitz, Head of People and Culture, shared her thoughts on the win:

“I’m absolutely delighted we’ve won this award. It’s a real testament to the effort our people put into intentionally shaping a positive, inclusive culture. While we don’t need an award to know we’re building something special, it’s incredibly validating to have that recognised externally.”

Jessica Magallanes-Castaneda, a Culture Champion, offered her perspective:

“What I like most about Lhasa’s culture is that it encourages continuous learning by welcoming diversity and curiosity. It’s rewarding as a Culture Champion to positively impact people’s experiences at work while also having fun!”
