My name is Sara and I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2015 with an MChem in Chemistry with Study in Australia; spending my third year at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. After graduating, I knew I wanted to apply the knowledge from my chemistry degree in roles with a people focus.

After graduating, I worked in Student Recruitment roles at both the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University, with a focus on STEM Outreach, Science Communication and Widening Participation. In these roles, I honed my communication skills; one day I would be running a fun science workshop for 30 primary school children and the next I would be presenting to Head Teachers about getting their students into University.

I started working at Lhasa in 2019 as a Sales Executive as it offered an opportunity to develop my scientific knowledge and skills at a not-for-profit company and educational charity. I was very impressed by the software that Lhasa produces and the ethics of the company with regards to pre-competitive knowledge sharing across the life sciences industries.

In my current role as Principal Business Partnerships Manager, I lead our Business Partnerships team as we work closely with prospective members to show how our solutions can be applied to their specific use cases to enable them to confidently make decisions on chemical safety.

Outside of work, I enjoy nurturing my houseplants and vegetable patch, visiting local beer taprooms, knitting up a storm and walking in the Yorkshire/Derbyshire countryside.
