Margarita María Muñoz Henao, Senior Application Scientist

Name: Margarita María Muñoz Henao
Job Title: Senior Application Scientist
Hello, my name is Margarita Maria. Please feel free to call me Maita. I joined Lhasa Limited as Senior Application Scientist in December 2021.
From 2007 to 2014 I worked as a Chemist in a Colombian company called Quasfar M&F S.A. Here, I worked across degradation and stability studies.
In 2017, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Toxicology from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
After finishing my Master’s Degree, I joined Ache Laboratorios in Brazil as a Senior Analyst, where I had my first contact with Lhasa’s in silico tools. In my role at Ache, I worked closely with the development of stability indicative methods and in silico analysis for theoretical prediction of degradation products using the Zeneth software.
From 2018 to 2021, I worked at Uniao Quimica in Brazil as a Toxicologist. In this role, I implemented the toxicology area using my knowledge and experience with in silico tools to assist with computational evaluation of API’s and general impurities using Derek, Sarah and Zeneth software tools, considering the ICH 3A, ICH 3B, ICH Q3C, ICH Q3D, ICH M7 and RDC 53 regulations. I also gained experience on writing/submitting dossiers and risk assessments to regulators (Anvisa).
In 2021 I began working at Lhasa Limited. I enjoy working at Lhasa a lot, especially because the work culture here is amazing. I am also excited about the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge with Lhasa to implement the use of in silico tools in Latin America. This is a great example of how my work contributes to Lhasa’s philosophy of “shared knowledge, shared progress”.
Outside of work, I love doing sports in general, especially, running, cycling and football. Actually, I used to be a football player for a long time.
