Dr. Steven Kane, Senior Scientist
Name: Steven Kane
Job Title: Senior Scientist
I’m Steven, a member of Lhasa’s science team since April 2016.
I joined Lhasa shortly after completing a multidisciplinary PhD at the University of Leeds (2011-15). The main focus of my research was the development of new synthetic methodology to enable the systematic exploration of lead-like chemical space. Prior to my PhD studies I obtained a first class MChem degree from Heriot-Watt University (2006-11). My final year project was focused on development of chemistry towards sialic acid analogues.
With its excellent reputation in the development of software to allow the prediction of toxicity, chemical degradation and metabolism, I applied to work at Lhasa as it provides me with the opportunity to develop my knowledge in these areas which complement the broad knowledge of organic chemistry and early drug discovery I’ve accumulated to date.
Out of work I most often find myself playing squash, cooking and walking.
