James Brundell, Test Analyst

Name: James Brundell

Job Title: Test Analyst

My name is James and I joined Software Delivery in April 2017.

I studied at the University of Sheffield and completed my MChem in Chemistry in 2013. To continue to use my skills, I then joined Boots Contract Manufacturing where I progressed from a Quality Control Analyst testing raw materials and finished products to be the Quality Assurance Complaints Co-ordinator for the Nottingham site, investigating and handling all complaints raised to us by our customers.

I then decided to change my career path and in September 2016 joined the FDM Academy and studied Software Development (Java). At the end of my time there, I stumbled across Lhasa which was the best of both worlds – using my chemistry knowledge and my quality assurance experience, and developing software!

My role at Lhasa as a Test Analyst involves testing software throughout development against our aims and requirements. Lhasa has supported my personal development since I joined – ranging from the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Course to Scrum Developer training – while I have gained experience of a variety of testing technologies and frameworks. I also have gained some experience as a scrum master alongside my testing responsibilities to help improve the team processes and ways of working, and have been promoted from Graduate Test Analyst to Test Analyst. Since joining Lhasa I have worked on Nexus (Derek, Meteor and Sarah) and more recently on Setaria.

Outside of work, I enjoy going walking, playing (video and board) games with friends and listening to music of many styles and genres, although I will always have a preference for rock music!
