Dr. Lara James
Name: Dr. Lara James
Job Title: Scientist
Hello, my name is Lara and I joined Lhasa in August 2015 as a Scientist.
I studied at the University of Sheffield, completing my MChem in Chemistry in 2009. I stayed on in Sheffield to do a PhD, working on the synthesis and reactivity of nitrogen-rich energetic materials. In 2013 I completed my PhD and went to work at the Health and Safety Laboratory in Buxton as a Scientist in the Major Hazards Unit.
Since joining Lhasa I have had the opportunity to work on the development of Derek alerts, transformations for Zeneth and data gathering of metabolism studies. The work I have been involved in at Lhasa has been interesting and challenging but also enjoyable. Whilst working at Lhasa I am learning something new every day and having the opportunity to work with an amazing team of supportive people in a collaborative atmosphere.
Outside of work I like to spend time reading, watching horror films and travelling around the country to visit friends and family. I have also been enjoying getting to know Leeds.
