My name is Andy and I joined Lhasa Limited as an Account Manager in April 2015.
Prior to joining Lhasa, I studied at the University of Nottingham for 7 years. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Chemistry in 2011 and then continued to study for a PhD in Organic Chemistry both under the supervision of Dr. Ross Denton. My postgraduate research was sponsored by Syngenta and focussed on the development of a novel organophosphorus-catalysed method of hydroxyl activation and substitution with the aim of producing an environmentally friendly alternative to the Mitsunobu reaction.
I joined the Account Management team at Lhasa as the position allows me to continue to work with and alongside excellent researchers across a range of disciplines, whilst making good use of the scientific presentation and explanation skills I had particularly enjoyed using throughout my career so far. I have always enjoyed meeting and communicating with new people and building on the established relationships, and the Account Management role gives me the perfect opportunity to continue to do this in my support of Lhasa’s members.
Outside of work I spend most of my time running and playing in 5-a-side football teams. I love to ski and I’m always keen to give new experiences a try. When I feel like being less active I’m quite content to just settle down and watch a film or some TV with some friends.
