EUROTOX 2026

We are delighted to be attending EUROTOX 2026 in Vienna, Austria, from 13–16 September 2026.

Under the theme “Toxicology without borders”, EUROTOX 2026 will bring together leading scientists from academia, industry, and regulatory organisations to share advances in toxicology, explore emerging approaches, and strengthen collaboration across the global toxicology community.

We are proud to support scientists in making confident chemical safety decisions through transparent, scientifically robust approaches. Join us at EUROTOX 2026 to discover how integrated in silico strategies, expert knowledge, and collaborative scientific approaches can support the evolution of next-generation toxicology.

Symposium
Dancing with Data: Learning the Steps in the Weight of Evidence Waltz for Next Generation Carcinogenicity Assessment

Chair: Agnieszka Ceszlak
Date: Monday 14 September 2026, 16:30 – 18:00
Location: Hall F2

The transition towards next-generation carcinogenicity assessment requires robust, transparent, and scientifically justified approaches that make effective use of available data. This symposium will explore the progress of weight-of-evidence (WoE) approaches for carcinogenicity assessment across multiple industries, highlighting shared challenges, practical experiences, and emerging best practices.

Within the pharmaceutical sector, the ICH S1B(R1) addendum provides a framework for applying WoE approaches using available preclinical data to support carcinogenicity assessment decisions. In agrochemicals, international initiatives are advancing the development and regulatory acceptance of WoE strategies. Meanwhile, the personal care sector continues to evolve its approaches to carcinogenicity assessment following restrictions on animal testing, increasing the need for innovative and scientifically grounded methods.

By bringing together perspectives from different industries, this session will identify common principles and practical learnings to support the development of robust, transparent, and globally accepted approaches for next-generation carcinogenicity assessment.

Session Programme
  • ICH S1B(R1) in Practice: Applying WoE to Real-World Decisions, Gabriela Silveira
  • Maximizing Existing Data: The ReCAAP Framework for Agrochemical Carcinogenicity Assessment, Amber Goetz, Syngenta
  • Assessing Carcinogenic Risk Using a Mode of Action Approach: UV Filters Applied in Sunscreen as a Case Study, Alan R. Boobis, Imperial College London

Exhibitor Hosted Session
Integrated In Silico Strategies for Confident Metabolite Identification and Toxicity Assessment

Date: Monday 14 September 2026, 12:15: – 13:15
Location: Hall M, Level 1, 375

Discover how integrated workflows combining Meteor and Derek Nexus can support efficient metabolite identification and toxicity assessment throughout the drug development process.

Through practical examples and real-world case studies, this session will demonstrate how computational approaches can help discovery and safety teams identify potential concerns earlier, strengthen scientific understanding, and generate robust evidence to support regulatory decision-making.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Prioritise and identify unknown metabolites by comparing predicted metabolic pathways with experimental mass spectrometry data using Meteor.
  • Perform rapid safety profiling of predicted metabolites through integrated metabolism and toxicity workflows covering more than 40 toxicological endpoints.
  • Apply transparent in silico evidence, including mechanistic explanations and literature support, to strengthen regulatory submissions and chemical safety decisions.
