Abstract:
Nitrosamine risk remains a critical challenge in pharmaceutical development. Addressing it effectively requires strengthened scientific evidence and greater collaboration across the industry. In this seminar, Gabriela Silveira will explore how pre-competitive, confidential data sharing supports deeper understanding of nitrosamines and the factors that influence their formation and risk. The session will cover how shared data contributes to enhanced in silico models, advances the 3Rs principles, and supports the reduction and replacement of animal studies. Drawing on case studies from the Lhasa Limited Nitrite in Excipients Data Share and complex nitrosamines initiatives, the talk will highlight real-world impact and future directions for the field.
