What is the role?

We are looking for an individual to join our team, to lead the practice and introduce the overall technical vision for Lhasa solutions. 


The role also delivers technical solutions that address both business and members needs, whilst following the Enterprise architecture blueprint and standards. 

The solution architect collaborates with Principal developers, other technical experts and the wider business to design quality solutions as well as ensuring alignment and consistency across products.

Your responsibilities


Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions by collaborating with stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Explore alternative technology and evaluating their trade-offs whilst understanding the technology landscape to inform solutions and products
  • Provide architectural artefacts and ensure solutions are aligned against best practices including Enterprise architecture standards and industry trends
  • Articulate how multiple independent-workstreams can architecturally be realised while maximising workstream autonomy and minimising risk
  • Help teams to understand sensible architectural prioritisation that preserves the architectural vision while allowing delivery timetables to be met
  • Facilitate cross-stakeholder conversations to arrive at consensus on architectural decisions
  • Support the Lead Architect in creation of the architecture roadmap, standards, design patterns and tool selection

Your skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Skills and knowledge


We think you'll be great for this role if you are educated to degree level or higher qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. computer science or software engineering or have considerable commercial experience of a technical lead role and:


.Have experience in:

  • Delivering technical solutions
  • Delivering high quality technical solutions in line with business needs and timescales
  • Creating solution design including system to system integration and interoperability, with Cloud technologies an advantage


..Are able to: 

  • Identify and implement new frameworks and technologies to solve problems or create new opportunities
  • Take on areas of work and quickly get up to speed on the relevant architecture to develop and drive forward the solution design and implementation you are working on
  • Help drive solution delivery effectively and guide decision making by balancing results, customer needs and quality


Have knowledge of:

  • Relevant architecture concepts (desktop, web-based, microservices architectures).Knowledge of secure software development life cycle, including deployment patterns and security controls and where to apply them within a solution
  • Agile methodologies and ways of working is desirable



  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written at different levels. Including questioning and negotiating skills
  • Keen to learn and develop skills and technical knowledge
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team and cross functionally
  • Analytical thinking, conceptual and creative skills
  • Able to adapt and facilitate change
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences
