Lhasa Limited, A Mindful Employer
Date: 21 May 2018
Last week, Lhasa Limited held a Mental Health Awareness breakfast butties and chat session as part of Mental Health Awareness Week! Lhasa welcomed a speaker from Inclusive Minds, a Leeds based organisation that offers a wide range of consulting services to help support organisations with all things Mental Health, who provided staff with a detailed overview of stress and work related mental health.
According to Mindful Employer (2018) at least 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem at some point in their life. Lhasa is looking to embrace a positive view of mental health and well being and aiming to raise awareness, remove the stigma, embrace a culture of 'It’s ok not to be ok' and provide support through people and resources. In 2018, Lhasa Limited became a ‘Mindful Employer’, allowing Lhasa to have easier access to information, local support, mental health awareness training and other resources to help support its staff.
So far, Lhasa has implemented a dedicated internal mental health awareness committee, registered as a Mindful Employer and held several interactive and informal events with staff to embody a culture of ‘It’s good to talk’ and demonstrate acceptance and understanding of mental health.
Lhasa is committed to creating a supportive and understanding workplace for its employees and is planning further events. Follow Lhasa on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to share the journey and raise mental health awareness.
Lhasa Limited is a successful not-for-profit organisation and educational charity that facilitates collaborative data sharing projects in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical related industries. Lhasa Limited specialises in the development of expert computer systems for toxicity and metabolism prediction providing a number of extensive and continually updated knowledge bases and the software needed to interrogate them.
