As Product Owner, you are responsible for overseeing and owning the lifecycle of a Lhasa product or solution, from ideation through delivery, support and maintenance. Together with Application Scientists and Delivery Managers, you collaborate closely with delivery teams, scientists, architects, and other internal stakeholders to ensure the successful development and delivery of high-quality software solutions. You are instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of our products and ensuring their alignment with members’ needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy, working with internal and external stakeholders to define and articulate the vision and outcomes, considering market trends, customer needs, and business objectives
- Use modelling practices to analyse findings and design solutions at the strategic and tactical level
- Work with internal stakeholders to prioritise the features and enhancements to be worked on
- Create and maintain the product roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic goals and provides a clear direction for the delivery team
- Gain greater insight into the specific prioritised demands so that the Member needs are clarified and understood
- Consider cross-solution opportunities and potential risks for the solution designs proposed
- Identify the pre-requisites and dependencies required to introduce the proposals
- Gain agreement that the solution designed will meet the member need
- Work in partnership with Members and Lhasa delivery teams to design, evaluate and select the solution to be delivered
- Communicate the benefits of the solution and how it will achieve the purpose and outcomes across the business
- Manage the solution backlog appropriate to the needs of the delivery team
- Facilitate team discussions to ensure good choices are made in implementation
- Represent the strategic needs of the business within solution delivery
- Provide regular updates to the Head of Solutions and the Senior Leadership Team on product status, milestones, and upcoming releases
Education and Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a relevant scientific discipline
Skills and Knowledge

- Broad understanding and practical experience of agile software development and the role of a Product Owner
- Knowledge and experience of requirements gathering and analysis
- Ability to take ownership and accountability and to hold others to account
- Ability to identify risks and issues and to propose and implement mitigating actions
