What is the role?
An IT Operations Engineer will administer and support infrastructure technologies, solutions and services. These can include administrating Active Directory Domain Services, Exchange services, network devices such as managed access points, switches, routers and firewalls, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), and open-source packages and solutions. One must also demonstrate their knowledge of virtual and cloud computing such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).
The role requires someone who can deliver and enhance our existing services by embracing automation and continual service improvement. Success will be measured by providing timely support and resolutions. The IT Operations Engineer will also act as an escalation and support point for the Operations team.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of driving their personal development who can apply excellent communication skills while working collaboratively across the company.

Your responsibilities
Infrastructure & Operations:

- Efficiently manage our Active Directory Domain Services and Azure AD
- Provide secure internal IT environment by monitoring, and resolving issues
- Proactively work on SharePoint Online Intranet to ensure efficient information available for Lhasa colleagues and to automate internal processes
- Support and Maintain Office365 including Exchange, SharePoint and Teams management
- Deploy software using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune
- Seek continuous improvement through automation using tools such as PowerShell or Bash
- Ensure our database servers (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) are Operational, Secure and up to date
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including VLANs
- Maintain and troubleshoot our Hyper-V and VMware estate, including in-depth knowledge of virtualization
- Maintain, improve and automate tasks within our Fortinet Security Fabric
- Maintain and improve on our Enterprise Security Monitoring
- Implement and support our Enterprise Service Management platform, including the Service Catalogue, ITAM & SAM and Endpoint Privilege Management
- Work on assigned projects and tasks from our team’s Kanban board
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities which may be reasonably expected of the role as necessary to achieve the objectives of the IT Department and company goals
Service Delivery:

- Provide technical support for internal staff with their IT difficulties and queries.
- Diagnose and fix errors with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software
- Diagnose and fix errors with Office365 services including email permissions, deliverability issues, service access requests, etc
- Manage the innovation and technical pipeline and escalated problems, working to prioritise solutions from the technical backlog
- Work to deliver services into production, including upgrading and decommissioning
- Responsible for maintaining up to date technical documentation

- Ensure the routine server backups to tape, disk and cloud are made and can be restored of daily/weekly tape, disk and cloud backups
- Maintain and support SCCM and Microsoft Intune, including MDM
- Ensure that all computers are running the latest version of security updates
- Monitor and remediate alerts in the Microsoft365 Defender Suite
- Create and maintain Virtual Machines using Hyper-V and VMware
- Disassemble and reassemble hardware, as necessary
- Deploying and supporting a wide range of Operating Systems, from Windows desktop (8.1 to 11), Windows Server (2012 R2 to 2022) and Linux (Centos, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
- Understand and support the cloud technologies and containerisation
- Develop scripts to automate routine tasks
- Perform root cause analysis and be able to communicate issues clearly with stakeholders
Your skills and experience:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related (essential)
- Microsoft Azure Certification
- Microsoft 365 Certification

This role is based onsite so there is a requirement to be able to work from the office 5 days a week
