My name is Liz and I am a member of the Marketing team at Lhasa Limited. In 2004 I completed an MChem in Chemistry at the University of Hull, however on completion of the course, I realised that my future lay in a customer-facing role. Following a couple of customer service roles, I looked for an opportunity to use both the knowledge gained through my chemistry degree alongside my enjoyment of working with people. This led to my acceptance of a position in the Customer Support team at Lhasa Limited in 2007. Following 4 happy years in Customer Support, I took on a new challenge, moving into the Marketing team having studied with the Chartered Institute of Marketing outside of work.
In September 2016, I was appointed to the role of Marketing Manager and am now responsible for overseeing the activities of the marketing team. The role of marketers at Lhasa is varied and comprises a mixture of proactive and reactive tasks. Typical team activities include administration of the company website, creation and implementation of internal and external communications, event management for face-to-face and virtual events, and liaising with others to get tasks done.
Since joining the marketing team in 2011, marketing at Lhasa Limited has been through various exciting developments and I am proud to have been a part of them. These have included:
- The development and launch of an updated, member-centric website; a tool that we are looking to develop further to provide maximum benefit to our members and prospects.
- A complete rebrand of Lhasa Limited and its product portfolio, giving it a fresh and modern feel that reflects the innovative scientific organisation that Lhasa is.
- A major redesign of our corporate and product brochures, to provide a more visually stimulating read and pertinent information of need to our readers.
- Facilitating and communicating the move to our new, larger headquarters in Leeds, UK.
In addition to the above, the Marketing team has continued to provide a series of scientific webinars that are ever growing in popularity with members of Lhasa Limited and the wider scientific community alike.
When I leave the office behind, I like to spend my time with family and friends and as a keen baker, am often known to turn up to an event with something sweet and incredibly unhealthy for people to enjoy. I have to try and limit the time I spend in the kitchen however, as my hips don’t like it.
