Charles Colbourn, Software Developer
Name: Charles Colbourn
Job Title: Software Developer
I’m Charles, and I work as a Software Developer on Lhasa Limited's Nexus. I joined Lhasa in 2016.
I started working in IT in 1993 as a junior system admin, and through most of the 90s worked in hardware and networking. In the early 2000s I started programming, mostly for identity management systems, and in 2010 joined a small team developing web based care management software for people with learning disabilities. From there I came to Lhasa.
An enthusiasm for learning led me to study part time from 1993. In 2002 I gained a BSc in Psychology. I subsequently gained a general BA (mostly European history), a diploma in Business Management, and an MSc in Psychological Research Methods. For the MSc I focused on computer modelling of human learning performance using connectionist/neural network models. I’ve also done work on usability and accessibility, and adaptive/assistive technology.
In my spare time I play the flute and piano; work on improving my French language skills; and run on the moors and fells near my home.
